eneloop rechargeable batteries are saving Christmas

I’ve only just begun holiday shopping and I’ve already lost count of how many batteries we are going to need to buy for the boys’ new electronic toys. Seeing ‘batteries not included’ on a box is a parent’s worst nightmare. From remote controlled cars to wireless gaming controllers, my boys love tech savvy toys and the cost of keeping them running can add up.

New from Panasonic, eneloop™ rechargeable batteries are winning awards and saving Christmas morning!

eneloop batteries

What makes eneloop so great?

Ready to go

Unlike other rechargeable batteries, eneloop batteries are charged with solar power and ready to use right out of the package. They can maintain up to 70% of their charge even after over 5 years in storage, so they are always ready when you need them.

Recharge

eneloop batteries can be recharged up to 2100 times!! Think about how many batteries that saves from the landfill and also how many batteries it saves you from buying. It’s a win-win for the environment and your wallet! Recharging is easy too, you can recharge any time at any stage of depletion. There’s no waiting for the battery to completely drain; you can recharge ahead of time and be prepared. Depending on the charger it will take roughly 7 hours to recharge a fully discharged battery.

Even though the boys will just be happy all their new gadgets and toys work on Christmas day, I’ll be happy knowing that my camera gear is in top working order to capture all of the memories!

eneloop batteries take up to 4.4 times as many digital camera shots as conventional dry cells while eneloop pro batteries can handle twice the number of external camera strobe flashes. There’s nothing worse than preparing for a special event and finding out your camera isn’t ready to capture it all.

Save money

Resuable batteries are not only good for the planet but they can save parents a lot of money. My boys are always handing me their controllers and toys asking me to swap out their batteries, and throwing the old ones away is a waste.

This holiday season, make sure you’re stocked up on eneloop batteries and ready for whatever excitement comes your way!

Eneloop batteries sound like a fantastic battery. I do have rechargeable ones but I doubt they’d last as lont as the Eneloop ones would. Love the fact that they are charged with solar power and that they can maintain up to 70% of their charge even after over 5 years in storage – that is remarkable.

    • momvstheboys says

It really is remarkable. We’ve used ones in the past and it takes hours to charge them but by the time we go to use them again they have lost a lot of their charge.

  35. we have a new little one in the family and batteries are used a lot

  36. I’ll testify. I’m a gadget guy myself and I have a load of these enerloops. I was just recounting a few minutes ago how some of them are past 8 years in constant use and still soldiering on. I must have about 50 of them around the house and in 8 years tossed out only 2 of them, mostly because of mechanical damage (fell off moving bike – ’nuff said, don’t ask).

  37. Mike Richardson says

Eneloop batteries have been popular with photographers for a long time. These are hardly a new invention. Yes they’re a great battery and a great idea to save money and the environment.

  38. Elizabeth Matthiesen says

I now have a Duracell recharger as well as the Sanyo one, the latter has the advantage that it can be charged via a USB port.

    Yes,so much better.I guess it’s time for a chance!

  44. Interesting. I use the Duracell rechargeables, but these might be better.

  45. Rosanne Robinson says

  50. Chelle Ostlund says

These look great. Def something to consider with the holidays just days away!

  51. So we recycle. We don’t throw batteries in the garbage but recycle our batteries. Except the drop off to recycle is at the main garbage depot which is 1 hour drive from our home 🙁 We did change to rechargeable batteries because of that drive. Those in charge of setting up Recycling for our area will not win! lol
I have not seen the Eneloop brand around. Glad to know they are available though.

  52. a new brand to me. we use alot of batteries, and the toys we buy for the grandkids always need somany batteries, a good idea to give my step daughter for all those grandkid toys!

  53. angie andrews says

  54. angie andrews says

These sound great and the fact they can be recharged 2100 times is great.

  55. We use a mix of rechargeable and regular batteries. Toys that are used a lot tend to get rechargeable so that we are throwing so many batteries away. But even rechargeable need to be replaced eventually. I’m on the lookout for a good sale to stock up!

  56. I bought the eneloop™ rechargeable batteries for my husband for Christmas. He received an all in one remote for his birthday but hasn’t used it because it kills batteries. Now all his remotes will be ready to go for game time.

  57. I love the fact that the batteries can be recharged up to 2100 times. That’s a lot!
