100 Weight Loss Bowls

100 Weight Loss Bowls

Whether you’re trying to lose weight or just simply eat healthier 100 Weight Loss Bowls has you covered. Do you want to jump on the bowl food trend but are trying to watch your waistline? With this book you can!!!

Feast on Smoothie and oatmeal bowls for breakfast, on-the-go sushi or power bowl lunches, and a range of cuisines such as Vietnamese pho or Hawaiian poke for dinner.

Every recipe is tagged as under 300, 400, or 600 calories making it easy to plan your menu and stay under your daily calorie target.

Why eat from a bowl? Life today feels increasingly busy, I know with myself trying to keep up with my three kids and all their extra curricular activities along with the house work, and being a wife, it can be hard to keep track of your weight. So, what I love about this book is that it provides a quick-to-prepare one-bowl meal of colourful, tasty, food that hits the spot when you need a healthy energy boost that’s comforting and filling, but low in calories.

Bowls are the new plates. Meals from a bowl can help with portion control as it typically holds less food than a plate.

My favourite recipe from the book must be the Zucchini & Carrot Spaghetti with cherry tomato sauce.

This meal only takes 15 minutes to prep and 10 minutes to cook. And is so delicious. The colours in this bowl are so beautiful and will for sure have your mouth watering! I know you will enjoy this fun creative book by Heather Whinney

Super Clean Super Foods

I am sure everyone has heard of the term “Super Food” well this book, Super Clean Super Foods, gives you and easy break down of the type of foods that are considered super foods. It includes 90 nutritious foods and 250 easy ways to enjoy them! With detailed profiles of 90 superfoods-including their health benefits, how to maximize their power, and 250 ideas for working them into your meals, drink, and snacks-this is your instant guide to enhancing the nutritional power of everything you eat.

Do you like Broccoli? I do! Its an example of a superfood, broccoli is an excellent source of bone-strengthening vitamin K and immune-boosting vitamin C, broccoli is also rich in a group of phytochemicals that may help protect against several types of cancer. The book gives you examples of how to eat whatever superfood you are interested in, in the three ways.

Avocados is another popular choice of superfood, this book breaks down everything from, why to eat it? What’s in it? Where is it from? And how to eat it? Lots of tips and how to’s in this great book by Fiona Hunter & Caroline Bretherton.

Healthy Meal Prep

I’m obsessed with watching meal prep videos on YouTube so when I got my hands on this book I was so excited to review it!

healthy meal Prep

Healthy Meal Prep by Stephanie and Adam of Fit Couple Cooks, shows you time-saving plans to prep and portion your weekly meals. This book includes step-by-step instructions to guide you through prep day. Shopping and equipment lists will help make planning a snap. Nutrition information gives protein, carbs, fat, and calories for each recipe. What I loved about this book is that it was super easy to follow and didn’t get too overwhelming, I tend to get lost in the kitchen and usually steer away from recipes that call for too many things. This book has 12 weekly plans and more than 50 simple, healthy, and satisfying recipes. Following all their directions, in two hours, you’ll have a week’s worth of meals ready to eat. This book would be the perfect gift for that busy mom, friend or co-worker, perhaps a new-mom-to-be so she could get some meals prepared for her family when that new precious baby arrives, so she won’t feel so overwhelmed.

My favourite thing to make from this book was the Beef and Black Bean Stir Fry. This version of beef and broccoli is flavoured with savory black bean sauce and includes a colourful mix of vegetables. This meal takes 15 minutes of prep time, 15 minutes of cook time, and it makes 4 servings! I like that it is high in protein and low in sugar.

Help Your Kids With Study Skills

help your kids with study skills

Something I never thought before becoming a parent was having to help my kids with homework, I’m not sure why, but I just assumed I did my time and I was done with school and homework. Now being a mom of three I find myself procrastinating my kids homework! Did I mention, I hate homework!!!

My oldest suffers from Anxiety along with sensitivity disorder and although we have been taught as a family how to help her cope with some of these issues in everyday life, school can be hard on her.

This book, Help Your Kids With Study Skills was such a good read and really gave me some insight on how to help her through some difficult things such as, Tests, Oral speeches, and just the simple reason, why do we need to study? This book is what every frustrated parent needs. It’s innovative visual approach combines colorful diagrams and illustrations with step-by-step instructions, making studying easier to understand than ever before.

Covering all the core concerns, including organization, schedules, learning style, motivation, study techniques, exams, and handling anxiety, this invaluable guide allows parents and kids to work together to understand even the trickiest concepts.

My favorite chapter of the book by far was “coping mechanism to relieve stress and anxiety” It offered breathing techniques, going on an inner journey, a step-by-step guide that allows their mind to take them on this suggested inner journey.

Have you ever heard of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) I have but was skeptical, when I saw it in this book, I knew we had to give it a try on my kiddo! EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Tapping,

has been known to be very effective in releasing negative emotions such as fear and anxiety. It is safe and easy to learn.

This book has 7 easy to follow chapters and will positively improve your child’s study skills.
