Ahoy there Mateys! Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day so I’m going to give you a cheat sheet to help you channel your inner Jack Sparrow and talk like a pirate to all your Scallywag friends!
Talk Like a Pirate Day
So what on earth is Talk Like a Pirate Day right? Is this even really a thing? It sure is!!! The day was created back in 2002 by two friends in the United States who, decided that September 19th each year should be a day where everyone in the world should talk like a pirate.
Surprisingly, it stuck…or not surprisingly because it’s just really fun to talk like a pirate, and now people all around the world celebrate the day by getting down to pirate talk!
Arrrgghhh…. need some brushing up on the pirate lingo?

The Treasure X toys were really fun and my boys were way more into these than I had expected, they loved them! I’ll probably pick a few more for Christmas because they were asking if we had any more of them the next day. Kids love blind box toys that have that element of surprise and this one had lots of different steps to keep the fun going.
Treasure X Tips
This gets messy, like really really messy. Put a baking sheet or cutting board or something under the activity to catch all the crumbs and spills. Then you can just pick it up and scrape it all into the garbage once your wee little pirates have collected their treasures.
We used an old plastic syringe that came with some medicine to add water to the treasure chest. It was perfect for controlling where the water went and how much.
Treasure X toys are geared for kids aged 5-9yrs and retail around $15.
Celebrate this year’s Talk Like A Pirate Day with some Treasure X toys and don’t forget our talk like a pirate download!

It was a lot of fun and pretty cool that there were different elements to it
My boys would love finding the Treasure X toys! We went on It’s A Pirate’s Life boat cruise for my youngest son’s birthday in July and LOVED it! All the kids dressed like pirates, got face painting and tattoos and shot water cannons from the boat!
On Centre Island right? We’ve done that too, it’s lots of fun! You’ll have to scoop some of these up for Christmas!
Im not sure if it still exists but, FB used to have a Pirate setting under language in settings.. It turned EVERYTHING on FB into pirate talk – very funny 🙂
