Easy Santa Oreo Cookies

Easy Santa Oreo Cookies that are fun to make and perfect for kids to help with!

I don’t whether it’s the fact that these Santa Oreos are no-bake or so stinking cute that makes me love them more. They are quick to make and so easy the kids can do most of the work themselves, making it a really fun activity for the whole family to get involved with. The reward at the end is sweet, Santa Oreo Cookies that taste delicious!

You can choose to make Santa’s Belly or Santa’s Face or both because when you put them together they are ADORABLE!!

Because the Oreo cookies are getting completely covered, you can choose any flavour you like for the belly cookies. There are other brands that look similar to a classic Oreo, these are fine to use as well and you might even find some other flavours you like.

During the holidays look for holiday flavours like peppermint bark oreos or even mint oreos, but rest assured, if you can’t find those, a good old chocolate or golden Oreo is perfectly suitable to make Santa Oreos.

How many cookies you want to make will determine how much of the candy melts you will need. Half of the package should do a nice batch of cookies and is easy to work with to get the cookies coated.

For Santa’s Face

Place the red candy melts into microwave safe bowl and heat at 50% power for short intervals of 20-30 seconds. Stir and repeat each time until they are completely melted.

Take an Oreo and dip one end slightly into the red melted candy wafers and place on a piece of parchment paper or wax paper to cool. I like to put the parchment paper onto a baking tray so I can easily move the batch of cookies. Immediately place half a mini marshmallow to one side for the pom pom on Santa’s hat.

To speed the cooling and hardening process, you can place the tray into the fridge for about 10 minutes.

Place the white candy melts into microwave safe bowl and heat at 50% power for short intervals of 20-30 seconds. Stir and repeat each time until they are completely melted.

When the red candy melts have set, turn the cookie over and dip the other end into the melted white candy melts about half way up to create Santa’s beard. Place on a piece of parchment paper and immediately attach a red m&m nose with the writing side down onto the top of the beard.

Using the black icing with a writer’s tip, draw on two black eyes. And that’s it! You have a cute as a button Santa Oreo!

For Santa’s Belly

Place a cookie in the red melted wafers and push around with a spoon, as well as flipping the cookie over, until the cookie is completely covered.

Using a fork, gently lift the cookie out of the melted wafers and tap lightly on the side of the dish to strain off excess candy melts.

Place onto a piece of parchment paper or wax paper and immediately add two white candy balls into the wet candy melts for the buttons on Santa’s coat. I like to put the parchment paper onto a baking tray so I can easily move the batch of cookies.

Repeat for as many cookies as you like or until you run out of candy melts. If the melted wafers start to harden pop them back into the microwave for 20 seconds and stir.

To speed the cooling and hardening process, you can place the tray into the fridge for about 10 minutes.

Once cooled, use the black icing with a writers tip to pipe on Santa’s belt underneath the buttons. With the yellow icing, pipe on the belt buckle.
