Fun and Frugal Learning this Summer!

On the last day of school my nine year old son literally ran out of the school doors yelling 'FREEDOM!!!!' at the top of his lungs! The next day he showed up at my side looking bored, yes, my little social butterfly was ready to return to the classroom already! I'll never forget the look on his face when I told him he had two months to go! lol  So what's a mom to do. I like to keep the boys fairly unscheduled during the summer days, because they are busy during the school year and play … [Read more...]

Tropicana Watermelon Popsicles

Our school has this fun tradition on the last day of school, all of the teachers line up on the street and as the buses pull away from the school yard, they wave good-bye to all of the students! I'm honestly not sure who looks happier, the teachers or the kids! So school's officially out for summer as of today and after a super busy month of June, filled with birthday parties, soccer games, art nights, school plays and endless field trips, I'm so excited to see the calendar with empty spots … [Read more...]

Hush, Little Baby……#BetterForBaby

Yesterday I was on a field trip with my son's class, when one of the dad volunteers spotted a baby across the splash pad. A teacher was chatting with the lady next to her and holding her new baby, and this dad could not resist. "I've got to go see the baby" he announced, and off he went to get a closer look. As a dad to six (SIX!!), he is no stranger to little ones, but it is a real testament to the power of baby! They draw you in, they melt your heart, and they really do make you want to make … [Read more...]

Take a Walk with Dad Down Memory Lane

It’s almost time to celebrate the most beloved man in our life. But how do you show your gratitude to the man who gives, but hardly ever asks? As Father’s Day is fast approaching, we know how hard it can be to find the perfect gift. This year, instead of buying something new, stick to what you know dad loves. Try sprucing up his most prized possessions to make them as good as new. After all, only you know what dad cherishes most.   Take a Walk with Dad Down Memory … [Read more...]

Happy 100th Anniversary P&G Canada!!

And just when I was starting to think 40 sounded old, Proctor and Gamble announces they are celebrating 100 years in Canada! That's a pretty great milestone!  It all started in 1915 when P&G became incorporated in Canada and started out with employing 75 workers. Today, almost 5 billion times a day, P&G brands touch the lives of people around the world. And P&G people work to make sure those brands live up to their promise to make everyday life just a little bit better, now and … [Read more...]

Head outside and Play! #WannaPlay

I remember the days when my son used to cry when it was time to come inside. He could spend hours on the swings or digging in the sandbox, and there would be full on tears when we suggested it was time to head indoors. But as time went on and my boys got older, it became harder and harder to get them to go outside, so it's no surprise to me that nine out of ten children don’t get enough exercise each day. Canadian Tire is committed to changing this epidemic of inactivity this summer! The … [Read more...]
