Ham and Cheese Breakfast Burritos

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I mess this up on a fairly regular basis (re: every day). I'm just not a morning person and usually don't feel like eating, plus on school days I spend so much time getting the kids fed and lunches packed, I don't want to head back into the kitchen once they are out the door. I do make up for it at lunch though and my go-to favourite lunch...brunch? is EGGS!  On busy days a quick scrambled eggs, with some salsa and cottage cheese … [Read more...]

Overnight Egg Cups

Individual overnight egg cups are perfect for special occasions or serving guests, do all the prep the night before!   Mother's Day is coming up this weekend....yes, THIS weekend!! Did it sneak up on anyone else or just me? My husband is pretty great at making my day special and I have tickets to Stars on Ice to celebrate with my mom, so with the weather forecast on our side for a fabulous weekend, I know I don't need to worry about a thing.  But soooo often I hear … [Read more...]

Eggs are a family business for Burnbrae Farms

Welcome to Burnbrae Farms!  Last week, the gracious Hudson family invited myself and 12 other bloggers to visit their farm and family legacy in Lyn Ontario. Egg-cited about Eggs!

Growing up, one of my best friends lived on a turkey farm just outside the town limits. I spent many, many days and nights out there on the farm playing in the treehouse, sleeping in the damp basement and when we were really lucky, wandering through the turkey barns. The sights, the smells, the sounds, it was all super fascinating to me!  Next week I have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the poultry sec once more as I join bloggers from across the country on a … [Read more...]

A one of a kind Egg Hunt at The Toronto Zoo!

On Good Friday, the boys took in a one of a kind egg hunt at The Toronto Zoo! A fun family event put on by Crocs, had the boys racing around the zoo in search of eggs! But not just any old egg, the boys were hunting down animals that laid eggs using their special Crocs passport to give them clues! Like this super cool Komodo Dragon lays eggs!  And of course our turtle friends do too!  Despite the drizzly Spring weather, we had a great time and the boys learned a little … [Read more...]

Deviled Eggs with Ranch Dressing

Last year Hubs and I had a little 'ranch off' in the kitchen as we competed against each other to come up with the best recipe using Hidden Valley Ranch dressing. Well, he won. So this year, I didn't invite him to compete, because well, I'm a sore loser like that lol But he enjoyed my creation just the same! Here's how I Ranchified an old classic!        Deviled Eggs with Ranch Dressing Ingredients 18 hard boiled eggs 1/2 tsp Onion Salt 1/2 … [Read more...]
