An adorable Easter Chick Handprint Craft that is easy to do and makes a special keepsake for the baby book or to gift to relatives
The boys and I were getting into the Easter spirit this morning and put together this pretty cute Easter Chick Handprint Craft!
I just love handprint crafts because they make a great little keepsake of when their hands were small. Handprint crafts are so simple to make and the kids really love them!
Easter Chick Handprint Craft
To get started:
Cut out a pair of legs and a triangle for the beak in orange construction paper or cardstock
Cut out a large oval in yellow
Trace your child’s hands in yellow- Since I had two big boys working on the project I used the same dark yellow as the body for Big Brother’s hands and did Middle Man’s hands in a lighter yellow
You’ll need 2 large googly eyes.
Fold the triangle in half to make a beak. Glue all the pieces together to form a cute little chicky. When attaching the beak only glue the bottom side down so the top part can still lift up.
And here you have it! a really cute chick!
well, Middle Man’s has a bit of an eye deformity but, hey, he’s not even 2, he actually did pretty good and didn’t eat too much glue in the process!
You could use this craft as an Easter card as well, by writing an Easter message on the belly of the chick. This is what we did as we don’t live near family, we just wrote Happy Easter on the belly and the kids signed the back and we mailed them off to their grandparents and uncle.
While we made this little chick craft for Easter, they also make a really fun craft activity just for spring, or any time of the year. Especially when working on animal or barnyard themes.

Perfect for spring or Earth Day and also incorporates science and nature into the activity!
Such an adorable idea! I love any craft that includes little hand prints. Oh, and I must say that your tablecloth disclosure at the end of your post cracks me up! 🙂
those are so cute! I think I will have to try them with my boys – they would look great in my front window!
