A Moose in a Maple Tree

“On the first day of Christmas, a Canuck sent to me a moose in a maple tree.”

Well, it might not be your traditional Christmas carol, but it is a really great one created just for us Canucks! Troy Townsin (a former Aussie) and Jennifer Harrington a Vancouver born illustrator have paired together to create a series of Canadian themed Christmas books for the holidays!

It’s a catchy little tune and my Candian boys love to sing along with the whales breaching, lobsters nipping and beavers building! But my favourite story is actually The Night Before a Canadian Christmas! Filled with Canadian-isms this is a unique twist to the classic Christmas tale, and will delight both the young and old! Adults will get a kick out of references to double-doubles, poutine, CBC, Hudson’s Bay and Don Cherry! Speaking of the crazy dressed hockey announcer, sit back and listen in as Mr Cherry himself reads you the story!

Through our books and CDs we aim to educate children and adults about the beauty and diversity of this great nation in a fun and entertaining way. We try to include every corner of the country in the contents of our books and CD. Our stories take readers across Canada visiting each province and territory and the musicians on our CD come from all over Canada with very diverse backgrounds.

This is a great gift idea for all Canadian’s but especially for any Canucks you know living abroad. We love to share Canadian Christmas stories with our Aussie Uncles over the holiday season!
