Back to School with Mabel’s Labels

It’s the most – wonderful time – of the year!!!

Okay, I kid, I kid, but for a stay at home mom, sending the kids back to school is a bit of relief! Well, let’s say it’s bittersweet! We miss them when they are gone, but there’s such a thing as too much of a good thing!

Before my oldest son started school a friend said to me something I always remembered. Kids don’t need new things every year. She was right, backpack, pencil cases and supplies do not wear out every single year and there’s no need to replace them if they are fine. I’m so glad I listened because I don’t stress out at back to school time now, maybe I’m the mean mom who doesn’t buy their kids a complete new wardrobe or shiny new things every year, but I’m fine with that. I buy items that are on sale and tuck them away for when the those lunch boxes DO turn nasty or that backpack DOES rip and the boys get shiny new things then! Planning ahead often pays off.

My other secret??

label

Having three boys in three separate grades, we send a lot of stuff to school! Lunch containers, shoes, and endless supplies and we want them all to return home. I’ve found the best defense is literally to label everything! Every coat, shoe, boot, pencil sharpener and pair of scissors and even some hoodies in the fall and spring season that are often taken off on the play ground. Teachers ask for items to be labelled and I am more than happy to comply, now if the teachers looked for the labels and read them, that would be awesome too!

mabels labels

Luckily Mabel’s Labels makes labelling ALL THE THINGS easy peasy! From skinnies, to mini’s and my favourite – shoe labels, Mabels Labels has a label or tag for everything! Moms love them because they are convenient and last almost forever, and kids love them because they get to choose their own style!

Even though I have all boys, each one of them is different, so I let them pick their own design. My oldest is a huge fan of sharks and I knew without a doubt that he would pick the shark symbol, my sporty middle guy picked the hockey mask and my fiesty youngest child choose the skull! Very cool choices indeed! They even selected their own font to go with them and were sooooo excited when they arrived in the mail! They are ready to label all the things!

To make things easy, look for combos when selecting your labels. The Ultimate Back to School Combo has everything you need at one great price.

  • 40 Mini Custom Name Stickers: 38mm x 8mm (1-1/2″ x 5/16″)

  • 16 Custom Shoe Stickers: 33mm (1.3″)

Not only are they waterproof, but they are dishwasher and microwave safe as well!

back to school combo

We’ve tried other labels in the past, but we come back to Mabel’s Labels again and again because they are the best and last the longest. Dishwashers are tough on things and we still have juice and food containers we labelled when my oldest started Junior Kindergarten that are standing the test of time, this year he heads off to grade 4! (sniff, sniff)

To keep you organized and ready to put an end to the lost things, Mabel’s Labels has an Ultimate Back to School Combo pack for one lucky reader! You’ll find that the Mabel’s Labels website is so easy to use and you’ll have a blast picking out the perfect icon with your child!

The products mentioned above were provided free of charge. Regardless, I was not obligated to feature this item and all opinions expressed belong to Mom vs. the Boys and are not influenced in any way.
