Yay for the first day of summer!!! To kick summer off and celebrate Father’s Day, we headed to the beach this weekend. There’s something just super exciting about prepping for the first beach day of the year. I gathered up sand toys, baked some treats to snack on, put loads of beverages in the fridge so they would be icy cold, and of course slathered the kids in sunscreen, it was supposed to be over 30 degrees afterall.
I use sunscreen on my body as well, but one area I just can’t do is my face. I just loathe all things greasy and can’t stand wiping that thick oily cream on my face, even though I should. Especially, now that I’m 40, I really need to start protecting my skin as much as possible and sunglasses and big hats just don’t cut it, I still got sunburned on my nose and neck. There’s an easier way, I know there is, and from now on, I’m only using moisturizers that have an spf built in. I moisturize every day anyway, it’s the perfect solution.
As proven in a new study, the sun dramatically impacts skin aging. Surprisingly, women are exposed to the sun on average of 840 minutes a week — showing how sun exposure is always occurring, even if you don’t necessarily notice it! Fortunately, Olay is launching two new SPFs this July – the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream with SPF 30 and the Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 30. I’m making sure that these are now part of my morning routine, that way I know I’m covered.
Having SPF in my moisturizer just makes sense for me, it’s a one step process and I always use moisturizer as the first and sometimes only step to my beauty routine depending on the day. Having sun protection included, means I don’t have to think about it or ruin my make up trying to apply it after the fact.
To kick off your summer, I have an Olay Summer Essentials Prize Pack valued at $165 value to giveaway to one lucky Canadian reader. ( Sorry, excluded Quebec)
