Spring Clean Your Wardrobe Tips

Hallway Closets

This is always a big gamble right? Picking the perfect moment to put away the winter coats and snow pants and bring the lighter jackets out of storage. You just know that the first time you do, Mother Nature will throw in one last sprinkle of snow to show you who’s in charge. Before retiring the heavy stuff make sure you clean out the coat pockets (hey maybe you’ll get lucky and find some extra cash!) and give everything a good wash with OxiClean™ Colour Shield Laundry Stain Remover before storing them away. Now go low and do the same with the footwear. I use a large tote to keep out of season footwear in and rotate them as the seasons change. While you have the bottom of the closet clear, give it a good vacuum and organize the new set of shoes.

Kids Dressers

Go through each drawer of your child’s dresser to see what they have outgrown over the winter. If you have boys, this will be super fun because we all know how much boys love to try on clothes and do a fashion show. Yes, I’m kidding, they will hate you for it. If you have multiples of the same gender like I do, this will mean some co-ordinating as you move sets of clothes over to the other child’s dresser. Don’t forget to check the pajamas too! Anything you can’t use anymore but still looks good, you can donate, send to consignment shops or join one of those buy and sell groups on facebook and sell in size lots. Be sure to give those items a quick wash before passing on. Now you have room and maybe a little money to restock on items you are short on. It’s socks isn’t it? Where do all those socks go???

Your Closet

Now that the kids are done, lets focus on you! Give yourself lots of time for this so you aren’t make hasty decisions, even better, invite your bestie over and get a second opinion if need be. Follow the classic rule: if you haven’t worn it in a year, give it a toss. I’m guilty of literally having dust build up on some items lol Some exceptions to this would be formal items that don’t get much use, but if they can still pass as in style, they are good to have just in case. Again sort into piles of keep, donate and sell and before you restock with the keepers, give the stale, wrinkely items a fresh wash with OxiClean™ Colour Shield Laundry Stain Remover . Organize your new inventory so you can easily find those pops of colour you are going to want to wear again this spring.

You can use OxiClean™ Colour Shield Laundry Stain Remover in every load to keep your colours looking new and radiant longer. For heavy stains, pre treat the item for best results. It’s safe to use in all machines including High Efficiency (HE) and comes in several convenient sizes and formats including liquid-gel, powder, and my favourite, pouches.

OxiClean™ Colour Shield Laundry Stain Remover is available at Mass, Drug and Grocery retailers across Canada. Visit www.oxiclean.ca for more information or give them a like on facebook for product news and updates.
