Recently I was asked if I would ‘taste test’ a La ROCCA Cake, and I gave it some long, hard, serious thought. Ha! I’m kidding! We both know I shouted out ‘yes!’ before they could change their minds! With Mother’s Day coming up next weekend, it made sense, I’m a Mom three times over, and I love a creative cake, I really do! My husband is totally fine with a run of the mill boxed cake mix, but I’m far snobbier…..err…more sophisticated than that! I love cake, but it has to be something special to wow me!
So Mama’s, you’re welcome! I accepted the gruelling job as taste tester for you! Ya, You! This has nothing to do with me, I just don’t want you to be eating a crappy cake on your most special day of the year!
My La ROCCA delivery arrived at 8:40-ish this morning, and when someone delivers you cake – you eat it! I told you I was taking this job seriously! So this morning for breakfast, I dug into cake! Tough gig I tell ya!
First impression? Gorgeous! I was sent the La ROCCA Super Caramel Crunch Cake. It’s a thing of beauty isn’t it? I mean, I was impressed the moment I lifted it out of the box, this cake definitely has the wow factor!
So let’s dig in!
The Original! Two toasted layers of pecan meringue are sandwiched between alternating layers of smooth, buttery caramel and fresh 35% whipped cream.
I’m actually a big fan of meringue, my mom used to make me these awesome meringue cookies when I was a little girl, and I haven’t had a decent one in years. This cake has two big layers of an amazing pecan meringue, that was crunchy and nutty and delish! The caramel gives the cake some sweetness and goes so well with the nuts, and the whipped cream is so fresh, light and fluffy.
La Rocca Creative Cakes was established in Canada in 1987, and is a family tradition. They use the freshest and finest ingredients in their cakes – like real butter, fresh eggs, whipped cream and rich, European chocolate and it really makes a difference in taste. This cake was love at first bite! You can really taste all of the ingredients and everything blends and compliments eachother so well!

I’ve been enjoying caramel crunch cakes since my university days… some time ago. The contrast of creamy and sweet, smooth and crunchy, just perfection!

STRAWBERRY CHOCOLATE MOUSSE cake is my fave.
I am out of the GTA so can’t enter, but wanted to comment on these cakes. They are fantastic. Every single La ROCCA cake my family has tried has been amazing. Cake is an occasional treat, so why buy a boring cake made with inferior ingredients? Spend a few dollars more and get the best.

Love the La Rocca cakes…..too many delicious choices and hard to decide. I certainly would love to try the Carrot Cake. There is nothing better than a nice piece of yummy cake after a nice meal. My girls, 2 and 4, love to eat cake too and it certainly shows on their faces!
