Just when you thought you had seen everything from Skylanders, they come out with something totally new and totally awesome. Last years Superchargers introduced a whole new level of play with vehicles and I thought that would be pretty hard to top, but this year Activision set the bar even higher with Imaginators.
So what makes Imaginators different? The ability to custom make your very own Skylander!
It’s actually one of those things that make you think “why didn’t someone do this sooner?”. As a mom I know one of my boys favourite things is being able to build their own avatars. They will spend a good chunk of time scrolling through options to piece one together just right and now they do just that creating their own Skylanders characters.

Kaos has discovered the ancient power of Mind Magic and is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders! Eon is calling upon all Portal Masters and Skylands’ greatest mystic warriors, the Senseis to stop Kaos and his minions. Now, you must use the power of your imagination to create your own Skylanders to battle in the ultimate adventure alongside the almighty Senseis to save Skylands.
Creation Crystals
New to the game are creation crystals. Place one of these on the Portal of Power to custom build your own Imaginator. Crystals can be one of eight different elements and the one you choose will be the one your character is as well. Next you select a battle class from 10 different choices, and then you can go ahead and pick out body parts, catchphrases, weapons, armour, voices etc. Sadly, you can only create one character per Creation Crystal.
Skylander Senseis
Sensei Skylanders are great warriors from 10 powerful battle classes that can help train the Skylander Imaginators that you create. There are 31 Senseis all together, 20 new characters and 11 former villians including a Kaos clone! Senseis are very powerful Skylanders with special powers to be unlocked at Sensei shrines and special Sensei Realm levels.they can play through.They can also unleash Ski-Chi – the ultimate battle class super move!
Adventure Packs
Adventure Packs are special toy figures that you can buy to unlock new chapters in the game. Gryphon Park Observatory Adventure Pack comes with Master Air Strike, an Earth Creation Crystal and Gyphon Park Observatory. Other Adventure Packs for Imaginators will include Enchanted Elven Forest and Thumpin’ Wumpa Islands.
Good news! Skylanders Imaginators supports all previous character toys from other Skylanders games, even the vehicles from Superchargers will work in the racing portion of the game.
Skylanders Imaginators is available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U
