Mom vs. the Boys has some swanky new digs and it’s long long overdue! Check out these before pics of my old office, I’ve had that desk and nightstand since I was about 12! After 23 years, it had seen better days and we moved it on to the boys bedroom closet until we decide if she belongs in ancient burial grounds or has a little life in her still.
Pretty boring right? the room looks almost empty and we’ve lived in this house for 8 years lol
Now on to the after pics, we actually painted the room this grey colour a few months back. The room used to be a bold red and it was pretty banged up from the boys playing in here. We’ve moved most of their toys to the basement so it was time to really make this space what it was intended for, our den. The office chair is new from a number of months back as well.
Now the furniture fills the room and gives us some much needed storage space and organization. Can you see my view from the desk? it is the boys climber and our backyard, I love that I can get my work done and watch the boys play at the same time. The leather bench you see next to the fireplace doubles as a toy box, so they still have some of their toys here but they get neatly tucked away and it lends as an extra seat as well. Yes, that is two monitors you see, one of them can be used as a monitor or a tv and once upon a time it was our bedroom television. I didn’t think I would like the dual monitors but Hubster talked me into trying it and I love it! The room definitely has a more grown up, lived in feel and we are really liking it.
