When you tick off a toddler

Little Buddy has been increasingly silly at bedtime, you know, sneaking out of his room, running around the house, turning the tv on in our room for a watch, keeping his brothers up late….. it was getting bad. We tried a few different tactics to tame the beast including removing  a stuffy from his room every time we had to put him back in it. This worked for a little bit but it didn’t take long before he would run like a mad man back in there, throw a stuffy out the door and slam it shut. hmmm….. not working.
He did pretty good over the holidays, mainly because he was exhausted from all the company, travelling ect. so when the behaviour picked up again last week Hubster was determined to make an impact. After a number of times returning him to his room, Hubster broke drown and stripped his bed of all the stuffies, pillows and blankets- except the special one.
Well, he screamed about it for a bit but not long and it was quiet.

When we came upstairs to go to bed, we found this-

Ohhhh he was ticked off all right. He trashed his room! He tossed clothes, diapers, sheets all around the room! The items you can see in the drawers, don’t belong there. He mixed the whole dresser up and it took a good while to reorganize and put back the whole mess. Of course this was nothing compared to the day he turned 2, but a show of revenge none the less.

Lesson learned, don’t tick off your two year old at bed time.
Well, at least don’t turn your back when you do.

Oh my, he did get his revenge. It’s so interesting and frustrating to see their personality show up when they leave babydom
