Cookie Monster Cupcakes

Easy Cookie Monster Cupcakes are perfect for a Sesame Street Birthday Party or just fun – anytime!

Cookie Monster Cupcakes

A few weeks back I shared with you all the Elmo Cupcakes I made my youngest son for his 3rd birthday, we loved them and with our Sesame Place trip just days away, we stuck with the Sesame Street theme for Middle Man’s birthday and made him some adorable Cookie Monster Cupcakes for turning 4!

They were a big hit too! (Inspiration came from this post right here)

You’ll need:

Box of cake mix – any kind will do, we used chocolate
White Candy Melts for eyes
Dark blue buttercream frosting in a piping bag
Wilton No.233 Decorating Tip, Multi-Opening (grass/hair tip)
Chocolate chips
Small chocolate chip cookie, I used Mr. Christie’s Snak Paks Mini Chips Ahoy

Put it Together:

Bake the cupcakes as directed and let cool.

Cut a small wedge out of the cupcake for Cookie Monster’s mouth and place cookie in hole.

Using your piping bag and hair tip, pipe on blue buttercream icing, covering the entire cupcake for Cookie Monster’s fur.

Put a dab of icing on the backs of the chocolate chips to secure to candy melts to create Cookie Monster’s big googly eyes.

Put another dab of icing on the backs of the candy melt eyes to secure to the cupcake.

and that’s it! Clone yourself some Cookie Monster cupcakes for your Sesame Street loving kiddos!
