We try to put all indoor renovations on hold during the summer months, because no one wants to be stuck inside when the weather finally gets nice. Now that the cooler temps are creeping back in, it’s the perfect time to tackle a new room. Our powder room on the main floor has been a little more modern and funky than the rest of the house. There’s no reason the smallest room in the house can’t be a lot of fun! So when we were searching for a new faucet, we were looking for something a little bit different. We would need something sleek and something super shiny!
The Times Square Monoblock Faucet had everything we were looking for. Our old faucet had two taps and sat very low, so this was a big change for us! We knew we had lots of clearance befor the mirror so the height of the Times Square Monoblock would have no trouble fitting and would fill the space a lot nicer. By choosing the Escutcheon plate to go with the faucet we were able to cover the other holes in the sink and make for a seamless look. The polished chrome finish is soooo shiny and matches the other accessories in the room well!
My husband describes the Speed Connect faucet as a ‘plug and play’ because it comes completely ready to install including attached braided flexible hoses with 3/8″ compression connectors and requires only one bolt. Our sink is actually an oddly shaped pedestal style, which proved to be slightly more difficult to deal with. Had we had a regular counter top sink, it would have literally been a breeze to install.
My husband was thoroughly impressed with the stem, or drain, because of it’s innovative foam gasket sealing plunger system. Because of our oddly shaped sink, our previous drain was very difficult to install and used a ton of putty, the American Standard drain didn’t use any at all, easily installed and we haven’t had one single leak.
There are over 50 designs to choose from including single handles, double handle, wide spread, and centreset. Start by choosing which bathroom your faucet is going to go in and measure the holes in your sink. A widespread faucet will need 8 inches, but standard holes will be 4 inches which is what we had. From there you can select the style you prefer and the finish that will look best!
