An eye-test with God

So my four year old has had a few questions about God lately, I have to say it’s quite cute to see him forming a relationship with God!

Here are a few:

Is God huge like Daddy?

Does He have a little brother like me that I can play with?

Does God have lots of toys?

Does God sleep in the Church?

and a little breakfast conversation went something like this-

Big Bro- smiling into the sky
Mommy- What are you looking at?
Big Bro- God, I see him, way up there in the clouds
Mommy- hmmm…maybe you should say Good Morning
Big Bro- Beams into the sky, waves frantically and says Good Morning God, Good Morning!!!

ahhhhh…..soooo cute!!!

I’ve been praying for Big Brother a lot these days, we were told that he has poor vision and will require eye glasses. This is a huge shock for us as neither myself or my husband wears glasses and have perfect vision. Even my parents don’t wear glasses and my in-laws only started to wear theirs later in their 30’s or 40’s. We have one more test to do next week and then we will know for sure and have the answers we need. I can’t imagine a 4 year old wearing and being responsible for glasses. They are so expensive! I know little kids who do have eye glasses at an early age, I’ve even known an infant who had glasses.

I wonder if God was giving him a little eye test of his own that morning? Can you see me this far away? Can you see me way up here???? lol

Have you had your child’s eyes tested?

You might be surprised like we were, Big Brother never gave any indication that there were problems with his eyes.

Here’s a fun idea from VSP Vision Care- they have a fun activity on their eye care education website that allows you to personalize an eye chart! You can write your child’s name or a fun message and print it out. Stand 20 feet away and tests their eyes at home. Children can even use it as a colouring page first.

It’s great for young ones like Big Brother who aren’t perfect with all of their letters yet,  you could just use the ones you know for sure your child has mastered so their is no doubt.

Here’s a few I’ve made:

Cute right???
