Cheers to a New Year in the Blogosphere

Well, happy blogiversary to me! yup, this is it, my second blogging birthday!

As a sit here snuggled down in my bed while the boys nap, snow and wind raging at my window, feeling a little down, it is no surprise to me at all that this is the time I started my blog two years ago. There’s something about being locked inside the house with 3 little boys in the dead of a Canadian winter that makes you scream for an outlet. so thank you internet. and thank YOU!! It’s really all of you, the readers, the fellow bloggers, the contest seekers that keep me going, that make Mom vs the Boys what it really is. I love that you stop by, leave me fun comments and take a peek inside the windows at our simple life.

This past year was marked by a number of things, here’s a run down.

Spring

March was a big month for Mom vs the Boys!

In mid March I became a proud card carrying member of the dot com club!! dropping the blogspot, with the love and guidance from the amazing Mommy Kat and Kids, I bought my own domain!

At the end of March I headed to Mont Tremblant, Quebec with Nissan, my first media event! It was amazing and the best part was meeting the adorable Lynette from My Wee View.

And before the month was officially over I introduced a brand new custom blog design.

In April I kicked off my first ever Beauty Bash event and had a lot of fun working with companies like Hard Candy, Vasanti and The Body Shop. I hope to beautify you once  more this coming Spring, stay tuned!

April also brought a touching and inspiring message of hope and strength via a special guest post from Joanne. Organ and tissue donation is such an important message to get out. Be a Hero, Be a Donor! talk to your loved ones, and if you reside in Canada visit http://www.beadonor.ca/ to register.

Summer

The end of June was super special because it marked the start of The Great Canadian Blog Bash! This was an idea I had since the beginning of blogging and the first time I asked other bloggers to work with me on a project. It went over really well and I loved loved loved reading your Canadian themed posts. It was a great build up to Canada Day! Thanks to everyone who took part and especially Nancy, Kat, Patty and Steph for co-hosting!

Remember the Canada Post strike??? eek! a review blogger’s worst nightmare! this set back a number of things but I finally got to bring to you a month long Tee Time event in August! The boys and I filled our closets with some fun new tees for the warm weather and prompted one of my favourite photos of the boys!

Fall

Fall was an exciting time to be a Canadian blogger! ShesConnected created a lot of buzz around the blogosphere and twitter alike. It was my first look at a blogging conference and I was even asked to speak on a panel. I was terrified!!! but ended up not having to say too much. Later I posted for what I really felt was a blogger’s worth.

Right on the heels of SCCTO was BlissDom Canada! This was truly the highlight of my year, both in my blogging life and real life!! I had sooo much fun and loved meeting some of my favourite online ladies either for the first time or again.

So here’s to a new year, another chance to work, learn, laugh and play with you all! Looking forward to year number 3!!! Bring it on!
