Always Infinity Pads!
Yes ladies, the innovative Always Infinity starts out much like a day in the kitchen with the perfect combination of oils, water and a fair amount of baking. Only this oven won’t fit in your driveway let alone your kitchen!
Recently I got a first hand look at what happens behind the scenes at the P&G plant in Belleville, Ontario.
Infinicel
This is the key to making the Infinity pad and what sets it apart from all the others.
Always Infinity® is the only sanitary pad made with a unique material called Infinicel®. This space-age material makes it flexibly thin, so it totally forms to your shape! So now, you won’t have crazy worries about your pad showing. In fact, you’ll hardly know it’s there. Plus it absorbs up to 55% more than regular ultra thin pads. It’s incredible protection you’ll barely feel.
Infinicel has an integrated 2-layer structure that allows fluid to transfer away from the top of the pad into the bottom layer and can absorb 10x it’s weight, yet remains amazingly light!
Infinicel is made right in Belleville and is the only plant in the world to manufacture the product. Always Infinity is Canadian Made and P&G Belleville is proud of it! Our red and white flag could be seen hanging high all of the factory floor!
Hands on Experimenting
P&G had each of us take part in a little hands on science experiment where we dissected both an Always Infinity pad and an Always Maxi to really get a good look at what was at the core. For the maxi, it was a lot of thick fluff, for the Infinity, the thin rubber-like Infinicel. After applying 30 drops of warm water onto each pad core, it was plain to see that the infinicel goes a long way in making sure the Infinity pad is super absorbent, leak free and comfortable. When folded in half the infinicel quickly unfolded to lay lie flat again and felt only slightly damp. The maxi fluff stayed bunched up and felt wet to the touch.
Let’s take a Tour
Decked out in our safety glasses, head sets and hair ties, we began our one hour tour of the shop floor. The set up to create the infinicel is nothing short of impressive. Not one person ever touches any part of the pad throughout the entire process, and somehow, I take comfort knowing that I am the only person who’s hands have touched my girly products.
P&G is environmentally conscience and I was pleased to see that none of the infinicel scraps go to waste. Scraps left over from the pad making process get sold to another Canadian company near by, who uses them to create long, highly absorbent ‘sausages’ that are used to clean up oil spills. We actually saw that there was very little waste and learned that less than 1% of the product material goes to the wasteland at the Belleville plant.
From producing the infinicil to packaging the boxes, every stage of the Always Infinity pad is completed right in Belleville.
“The Talk”
P&G is making sure girls in Canada start their periods armed with good information and tips through their educational programs and student guides. Overseas in Africa, they making sure that girls have the supplies needed during their periods so they can continue to attend school.

Funny story,, I received a sample of the infiniti and I put it in my “Just in case” kit in my van. I ended up needing breast pads and didn’t have any left in there so I cut the infiniti pad in have and used it as a nursing pads! Worked great. I would imagine it works well for periods too!
