Did you know that it takes plastic over a millennium to photodegrade? Because the sun has to hit plastics to make them deteriorate, and it’s pretty tricky to do at the bottom of a landfill. This is what is inspiring Canadian company R3volved to turn waste into school, home and office supplies you will be excited to use every day!
R3VOLVED has a mission to make recycled products accessible to the average consumer and drive a movement to choose recycled. The best way to do this was to create fun products that people will want to buy. You won’t find any boring products here at R3VOLVED, everything is bright and colourful and very very unique!
Because I have three boys in school, we go through our fair share of school supplies, but truth is, mom is a bit of an office supply junkie herself! When I attended school my pencil case was full of the coolest finds and brightest colours and that trickled over to my office jobs as well. Just because you’re an adult doesn’t mean work has to be boring!
So the whole family was super excited to see the newest samples of R3VOLVED products, which are all available at Walmart Canada. The bright colours really caught my son’s eye, they have all their favourites like blue, green and yellow! But the most exciting part was seeing how each product has something special about it. Whether it was the flip out ruler, bottled eraser or dual sharpener/eraser, you can tell that thought and innovation went into each design.
Wondering why the ladies behind R3VOLVED use a 3 in their name? Everyone knows the three Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle right? Well they have taken that a step further with these three – Recovered, Remade, Reloved.
We recover waste and prevent it from ending up in landfills. From there, we remake that waste into cool new products. Once those great new products end up in our customers’ hands, they are reloved. And so the cycle continues!
The Impact
R3VOLVED has plans to divert 360,000 500ml plastic bottles from landfills, incinerators and the ocean in 2015. That is how many plastic bottles are manufactured worldwide in a single minute, believe it or not!
R3VOLVED uses 100% recycled materials to make its products and packaging and is available exclusively at Walmart
